Job Description: 

Reports to:  Senior Vice President

Type:  Regular Part-time; In-Person; 2 days/wk (minimum)

Classification:  Non-Exempt

Category:  Staff

Summary of Position: The part-time receptionist is responsible for performing clerical tasks within the office setting to support daily operations.

Compensation:  The hourly compensation for this appointment will range from $20 to $23 and reflects what BFC reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answering and transferring phone calls to employees, sorting and delivering mail to employees, and greeting visitors when they arrive for meetings with executive staff. 
  • Manage and protect company information and its database to ensure current and usable client information. 
  • Interfaces with USPS personnel regarding basic postal requirements. 
  • Performs general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.  Accomplishes any other tasks/duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • High school graduate with some college preferred
  • High people skills in order to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Computer knowledge with an understanding and competency of basic programs, applications, terms, and functions.

Physical demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk the campus, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines.  Requires mild physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over (5) five pounds, also the ability to travel off campus to acquire supplies, equipment, etc.  The position requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability enough to communicate in person or over the phone.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
